Past “Blast,” Our Summer Camp and Onward
to an Exciting 2017-2018 Season!
As President of The Children’s Theatre, Inc., I feel so proud of our 2016-2017 successful season. We had something for everyone! Our lineup of The Spell of Sleeping Beauty, Pollyanna, The Music Man and ending with our recent production of Robin Hood gave youths of all ages a chance to shine in their performances. Audiences loved the endearing characters that our talented actors/actresses brought to life on the stage.
We ended our season with the presentation of our Volunteer of the Year Awards during the intermission of Robin Hood. Our volunteers are ALL appreciated for everything they do to make our organization successful and fun. The five volunteers who received their plaques for 2017 are David Barish, Steven Mercer, Laura Nadel, Sheng Yang and Mary Bell Roisland. Again, may I applaud their dedication and contribution of their time and talents.
Now, we are working on our Summer Camp Program, which will be a three-week camp with an exciting children’s musical performance on the last day of the camp! Dates are July 24-August 11, 2017. Unfortunately, there will only be 20 open slots for registration. Camp is a three-week commitment and cannot be broken down into one-week sessions. This will be a team-led camp. Hours will be from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Registration will be on a “first come, first served” basis. For more information see Registration link below.
Our 2017-2018 tentative line up consists of plays and a musical that will surely be entertaining and fun for all; we begin with an old classic, Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, followed by Night at the Wax Museum, then, our musical, The Sound of Music and ending our season with an exciting new play, Lady Pirates of the Caribbean!
Have a wonderful summer. I think our 2017-2018 Season will be AMAZING!
